About This Temple

Shri Mangaladevi Temple is one of the most revered shrines in coastal Karnataka.
The presiding deity, Goddess Mangaladevi, is believed to be the guardian of the
city of Mangaluru. The temple draws thousands of devotees during Navaratri and
on auspicious Tuesdays and Fridays.

Historical Note

Founded over 1,400 years ago, the temple is believed to have been established by Matsyendranatha. The current structure dates to the 10th century CE and was renovated by Hyder Ali in the 18th century.
